As the internet exploded, there were a plethora of alarmists preaching against the downfall of society as we holed up in our homes and did our banking, shopping, and entertainment online. The world would become a society of recluses avoiding contact with each other as all our needs could be met through the solitude of the internet.

I never did buy into that philosophy. And I've thoroughly enjoyed watching the development of social networking as a communication internet tool.

Before I go further, let me state that there is nothing that can replace the face-to-face contact you have with your friends and community. Live, in-person interaction is crucial to the ongoing society.

BUT, Social Networking is a phenomenal tool to maintain existing friendship and develop new ones.

I jumped on the Social Networking phenomena in March 2005 when I joined MySpace. Since that time, I've joined a number of Social Networking sites, each with their own special purpose. This space on my page is intended to be a launching pad to the various sites I personally use. I invite you to join me in any or all of these pages as they fit into your communication tool belt. See you online!
